Friends of History
Friends of History is a volunteer support group for the New Mexico History Museum and Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Its mission is to raise funds and public awareness for the Museum’s exhibitions and programs. Friends of History fulfills its mission through three ongoing public history programs:
Explore 400 years of authentic history, culture, and architecture in the nation’s oldest capital city. From ancient Pueblos to the birth of the atomic age, our museum-trained docents bring to life the incredible true stories, colorful characters, and unique places that make Santa Fe ‘The City Different.” Click here for more information.
Hear stories about the amazing diversity of people and events that make up New Mexico’s history. On the first Wednesday of each month, a leading expert shares experiences and insights about some fascinating aspect of New Mexico’s past. Click here for the calendar of upcoming lectures.
We invite history buffs to "Walk the Talk" by sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge of New Mexico history with visitors from around the world. Become a walking tour docent, an exhibition guide, or a library and collections aid. Deepen your knowledge and appreciation of our beloved state while helping visitors, school groups, and scholars do the same.
Friends of History is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization operating under the by-laws of the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
